Argentina excludes Lionel Messi from match against Costa Rica.

Argentina’s captain, will be absent from the team during their international friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday.

The soccer icon, aged 36, recently sustained a leg muscle injury, sidelining him for the international break. This setback follows his previous absence from Inter Miami matches due to injury.

In a recent Concacaf Champions Cup game against Nashville SC, Messi suffered a left ankle twist after being kicked in the calf, leading to his premature exit from the match.

Despite attempting a return against DC United, he was substituted in the second half due to persistent discomfort. Tata Martino, Miami’s head coach, cited concern over Messi’s posterior overload, opting for caution.

Consequently, Argentina will compete against Costa Rica without Messi. While reports suggest his potential return for Inter Miami’s Champions Cup fixture against Monterrey on April 3, the exact date remains uncertain.
