Cabinet approves Lt Gen Munir Afsar as Nadra Chairman for 3 years

The Cabinet has approved Lt. Gen. Munir Afsar’s appointment as the Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for a three-year term.

Initially selected by the caretaker government led by Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on October 2, Lt. Gen.

Muhammad Munir Afsar has now been officially endorsed by the federal government for a three-year tenure following thorough discussions and considerations.

The approval was granted through a summary circulated by the Ministry of Interior.

Additionally, the Federal Cabinet has introduced Rule Seven A in the NADRA Rules 2020, allowing the government to appoint any serving officer as the Chairman of NADRA in the interest of the nation, thereby reinforcing governance structures.
