PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Zardari Extend Baisakhi Greetings to Sikh Community

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed their greetings to the Sikh community celebrating Baisakhi, an ancient harvest festival significant in Sikhism and marking the start of the new year.

PM Shehbaz, in a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, extended warm wishes to Sikhs worldwide, emphasizing Baisakhi’s symbolism of spring, love, and happiness.

He highlighted Pakistan’s religious diversity as a reflection of various faiths and cultures coexisting harmoniously.

The PM assured the provision of necessary facilities to Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan.

President Zardari also echoed these sentiments, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding minority rights.

The President House emphasized Pakistan’s determination to facilitate the Sikh community.

Around 2,400 Sikh pilgrims from India entered Pakistan via Wagah Border to participate in Khalsa Janam Day and Baisakhi celebrations.

The main event at Gurudwara Panja Sahib will conclude the 10-day pilgrimage on April 22.
